Press release of the Working Group of the International Meeting of the Communist and Workers' Parties
On Friday 29 of April 2011 the Working Group of the International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties came together in Athens in order to prepare the 13th International Meeting. The CP of Brazil, the CP of Cuba, AKEL, the CP of Bohemia and Moravia, the KKE, the Lebanese CP, the People's Party of Palestine, the Portuguese CP, the CP of the Russian Federation, the South African CP, and the Syrian CP participated in the meeting.
It was decided at the meeting that the 13th International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties to be held in Athens will take place on 9-11 December 2011 with the following theme: SOCIALISM IS THE FUTURE!
The international situation and the experience of the communists 20
years after the counterrevolution in the USSR. The tasks for the
development of the class struggle in conditions of capitalist crisis,
imperialist wars, of the current popular struggles and uprisings, for
working class-popular rights, the strengthening of proletarian
internationalism and the anti-imperialist front, for the overthrow of
capitalism and the construction of socialism.
The Working Group discussed and made a positive assessment of the
development of joint actions along the lines which were decided upon at
the 12th IMCWP in South Africa. There was also a very useful exchange of
views on the international developments.
The parties which participated, on the occasion of workers' May Day,
addressed warm class greetings to the working class and workers, to all
the peoples which are struggling for their rights and are fighting
against the assault of capital and imperialism.

Comunicado de Prensa del Grupo de Trabajo del Encuentro Internacional de los Partidos Comunistas y Obreros
El viernes 29 de abril de 2011, el Grupo de Trabajo de los Encuentros
Internacionales de Partidos Comunistas y Obreros se reunio en Atenas
para preparar el XIII Encuentro Internacional. En la reunion tomaron
parte el Partido Comunista de Brasil, el Partido Comunista de Cuba, el
AKEL, el Partido Comunista de Bohemia y Moravia, el KKE, el Partido
Comunista Libanes, el Partido del Pueblo de Palestina, el Partido
Comunista Portugues, el Partido Comunista de la Federacion Rusa, el
Partido Comunista Sudafricano, el Partido Comunista Sirio.
En la reunion se decidio que el XIII Encuentro Internacional de Partidos
Comunistas y Obreros se celebrara en Atenas el 9-11 de diciembre de
2011 con el siguiente tema: ¡EL SOCIALISMO ES EL FUTURO!
La situacion internacional y la experiencia de los comunistas 20 anos
despues de la contrarrevolucion en la URSS. Las tareas para el
desarrollo de la lucha de clases en condiciones de crisis capitalista,
de guerras imperialistas, de las actuales luchas populares y los
levantamientos por los derechos obreros y populares, el fortalecimiento
del internacionalismo proletario y el frente antiimperialista, por el
derrocamiento del capitalismo y la construccion del Socialismo.
El Grupo de Trabajo discutio e hizo una valoracion positiva del
desarrollo de acciones conjuntas sobre las lineas decididas en el XII
Encuentro en Africa del Sur. Ademas, se realizo un util intercambio de
opiniones sobre los acontecimientos internacionales.
Con ocasion del Primero de Mayo, los partidos que participaron
extendieron un saludo calido clasista hacia la clase obrera y los
trabajadores, a todos los pueblos que luchan por sus derechos y se
oponen a la ofensiva del capital y del imperialismo.
