Marxism-Leninism Today and ZZ’s blog have lost a dear friend and comrade with the death of Joaquim Pontes Marques de Sá (September 26, 1946- September 23, 2020).
Joaquim, retired from a distinguished career in biomedical engineering and a professorship at the University of Porto, was a committed Marxist-Leninist, a member of the Portuguese Communist Party, and a devoted partisan of the Portuguese Revolution of April, 1974. His excellent blog, Revolution and Democracy, available in Portuguese and English, remains as a tribute to his Marxist-Leninist scholarship.
Joaquim’s encouragement and contributions to MLT were an inspiration to us.
